Welcome to another Monday Must-Reads, Volume 2!
Happy Monday, friends! I have to say it’s been a pretty great week. I’ve officially gotten into the Christmas spirit. Yea, I’m one of those. Don’t get me wrong. I love Thanksgiving, but I don’t see anything wrong with enjoying Thanksgiving dinner while in the midst of all of my Christmas decorations. Unlike Christmas, Thanksgiving doesn’t require tons or prep beyond getting a huge, incredibly delicious meal together. With Christmas, there’s the decorations, gifts, etc. etc. on top of the meal. That’s why I like to decorate for Christmas early, before all the holiday stressors take over.
Anyway, I’m so excited for another Monday Must-Reads post. There are so many fun and inspiring things happening on the interwebs.
1 | GUYS! I have a new favorite podcast, and I’m proud to say that one of my first ever blog friends is one half of the duo. While I adore Christina, even if she wasn’t behind the podcast, I’d still be in love with this podcast. Christina and her husband, Pai, started a podcast called the Culture Talk Collective, where they have open discussions about interculture relationships. It’s eye-opening, beautiful, and incredible, and as someone who has struggled with my own identity as a Filipino and Black American who also grew up as a military brat, I quickly became obsessed. Be sure to check them out on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher, and wherever else you listen to your podcasts!
2 | As mentioned, I put up my Christmas decorations over the weekend. I found this dog-themed lazy Susan at Big Lots, and I’m obsessed!
3 | If you haven’t seen this Nest Cam video of a little boy putting Halloween candy into an empty bowl for future trick-or-treaters, do yourself a favor and give it a view. Prepare for some major heart warmth.
4 | When I learned Taylor Swift was only going to 2 cities in the US on her tour, I was baffled. Then I learned that it’s because she wants to be close to home because of her mom’s cancer, and I cried.
5 | I got this “Make It Rein” sweatshirt in navy blue just in time for the Christmas season. While you can’t buy it individually online, you can grab one of their mystery bags and get a variety of different Christmas tops.
6 | I followed this salt dough ornament recipe and made a paw print ornament for Gunther!
7 | My goal for November is to watch a classic movie I’ve never seen every day this month. Check out this list of classics available on Amazon Prime.
8 | I found some more overnight oats recipes, and this snickerdoodle one is amazing, especially when you add bananas and walnuts.
9 | New bucket list item: swimming with otters!
10 | Kyle and I made this spicy guacamole burger with jalapeno mayo for dinner last night, and it was so delish!
