Kyle and I answered questions about our relationship for our two-year anniversary!
Kyle and I have officially been dating for two years, and honestly it feels so much longer. What I love about our dating story is that we were friends long before we decided to start dating. We met through mutual friends, and we made a lot of memories together before any kind of romance sparked.
The last two years have been huge years of growth, both personally and within my relationship with Kyle. When I think back on how different our lives look now compared to where we first started, it’s insane! Our lives continue to change for the better, and I feel so lucky that I get to do life with him.
Today, I’m excited to give y’all a little insight into our relationship from Kyle’s perspective with these fun questions! We each answered these questions separately, so I had no idea what Kyle’s answers were before I pasted them into this blog post. I loved seeing that a lot of our favorite memories and special moments overlapped.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY OF ME?
Kyle: When I came home from England and you had done a bunch of house chores for me and also bought me a bunch of birthday gifts and you realized that it was all way too much so you were kind of embarrassed, but it was just so sweet
Tiffany: When Kyle and I went on our first road trip together, we were traveling to Baton Rouge, and about halfway there, there was a sign for Chicot State Park. Neither of us had ever heard of it before, but he suggested we check it out, so we did. It ended up being a little more out of the way than intended, and even though I freaked out after almost running into two huge spiders webs and seeing a snake, it kind of set me up for everything that was to come in our relationship. He has such a spontaneous and adventurous spirit. While I crave adventure, I’m not good with spontaneity, but Kyle sometimes brings it out of me.
HOW DID YOU DESCRIBE ME TO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY?
Kyle: Authentic, kind, funny in an awkward but very relatable way, pretty π
Tiffany: Kyle and I had a lot of mutual friends, so I didn’t really have to describe him to them. They already knew who he was. As far as family and long-distance friends go, I pretty much described him in ways that made him seem like he had something in common with whoever I was talking to. I told them about his job in the Air Force and that he was from Michigan. I usually mentioned that we met through mutual friends. I remember describing him as a weirdo to my ship friends (because he totally is), and they bounced back with something along the lines of “so he’s perfect for you.” Nine times out of ten, I also mentioned his sense of humor. He still makes me laugh till I can’t breath.
WHAT’S THE NICEST THING I’VE EVER DONE FOR YOU?
Kyle: Bring me chicken soup, orange juice, and DayQuil when I was sick (before we were even dating!)
Tiffany: One thing I love and appreciate about Kyle is how understanding and patient he is when it comes to my mental health. It was something I was nervous about when we first started dating because I know how high-maintenance I can be, especially when I’m overwhelmed with anxiety, and I have no idea how to express myself or communicate what I actually want or what I’m actually upset about. Kyle has been so encouraging and he continues to work with me as I work on my mental health. One of my favorite things that he does is that after every one of my therapy sessions, he gives me a call to see how it went and how I’m doing. He never asks for details, he just knows how draining each session is and can be, and he wants to make sure I’m okay. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that.
I LAUGH EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT:
Kyle: When you hide my phone from me, but can’t keep a straight face at all.
Tiffany: the time I asked if we were going to take a nap. This is 100% going to be a “you had to be there” kind of situations, but I’ll try to explain it anyway. I don’t remember what we had been doing earlier that day, but Kyle and I were at the house I was renting in Louisiana, and it was the middle of the afternoon. I had changed into comfy clothes and gotten under the covers and then I asked Kyle if we were going to take a nap. He looked at me like I was crazy, as if I hadn’t already decided I was going to take a nap since I was in my PJs and in the middle of getting under the covers. I’m not sure why it made us laugh so hard, but to this day, when I think about it, I still crack up.
IF YOU COULD RELIVE ONE DAY FROM OUR RELATIONSHIP TOGETHER SO FAR, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Kyle: Hiking around Valley of Fire State Park
Tiffany: There was this day in Vegas that was literally perfect from start to finish. We started the day with a hike at Valley of Fire State Park. The drive there was gorgeous. The hiking was gorgeous. The views were gorgeous. My boyfriend is gorgeous. It was just a day of gorgeousness. We drove back to the hotel, and we took a nap and ordered room service. We were staying at the Palazzo, and it was seriously like a dream. Afterward, we went to go see Absinthe, which was incredible. We walked along the strip and saw a water show at the Bellagio. Then we took a Lyft to Fremont Street, walked along it, and shared a lobster roll (my first ever). Then we went to a speakeasy called The Laundry Room. Every moment of the day was so perfect, and I had so much fun.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE GIFT I’VE EVER GIVEN YOU?
Kyle: A jar full of little pieces of paper, each with a happy memory of us together or a reason you fell in love with me.
Tiffany: Kyle surprised me with a bouquet of flowers on Valentine’s Day, but it wasn’t to celebrate Valentine’s Day; it was to commemorate us dating for 15,000 hours.
WHAT ACTOR/ACTRESS SHOULD PLAY ME IN A MOVIE ABOUT MY LIFE?
Kyle: Zazie Beetz
Tiffany: Ryan Reynolds *heart-eye emoji*
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE THAT WE’VE VISITED TOGETHER?
Kyle: Harry Potter World!
Tiffany: Las Vegas is easily my favorite trip we’ve ever taken together. I just love that our priorities weren’t gambling and getting blackout drunk. We wanted to experience the best parts of Vegas, and we did that and had the most memorable trip. I also loved visiting Charleston together. We’ve been twice now, and on both visits, Kyle has gotten to meet and spend time with my dad and his side of the family. It was so special. Honestly, looking back at all of our travel memories together is so special. I can’t believe how many cities we’ve visited in our time together, and there’s lots more to come.
WHAT WERE THE TOP 3 MOMENTS OF OUR 2ND YEAR TOGETHER?
Kyle: (1) Christmas lights at James island, (2) seeing your reaction to Gunther being home for the first time, and (3) whale watching
Tiffany: (1) Adopting Gunther (obviously), (2) Moving in together (it was such a big step in our relationship, but honestly, it was such an easy transition), and (3) going to Harry Potter World in Orlando.
WHAT’S ONE THING YOU’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO GOING THROUGH TOGETHER?
Kyle: We’re going to make great parents, someday, in the future.
Tiffany: Literally everything! I’m so excited to live life with Kyle, and I genuinely can’t wait to see what our future holds. Of course, I’m looking forward to our wedding day. I know it’s going to be so special, and it’ll be a reflection of us, our relationship, and our future together. I’m also excited to see Kyle as a dad. I love watching him interact with his niece and nephews and mine as well. I know he’s going to be a great dad someday, but, like, way, way, wayyyy into the future.
