Sharing my reading goals for 2019!

I’ve written a lot about how growing up as a child of someone in the military makes it feel like so many things are temporary. You move around a lot, so the people you establish close relationships with may be more fleeting than you think. For Christmas and birthdays, you’ll ask for gifts and things that you may not even see within the next couple of years. It’s hard for certain things to stick, which can be both difficult and a blessing.
Something that I’ve managed to keep with me through all of these years is my love for reading. Even when I was younger, my parents would comment on how they had no idea where my love for reading came from because neither of them had a love of the written word quite like I did. When I would visit my mom during summers or holiday vacations, one of the first stops I made on my trip would be to the library so I would have books to read during my stay. I have fallen in love with so many books and characters and even settings throughout my life, and I truly believe there will never be a time when I’m not in love with books.
I have gone to the Austin Teen Book Festival and the Texas Teen Book Festival in years past to meet some of my favorite authors. I even participated in NaNoWriMo a few years ago. Over the past couple of years, I haven’t prioritized reading as much as I wish I had. Life has certainly gotten in the way, but my desire to fall in love with books certainly hasn’t.
There are few things that I can look back on in my life that make me think of the words “endless” or “forever,” but one thing’s for sure – just like I try to live my life with endless bliss, my love for the written word will forever be endless. Even though I plan to go back to school next year while working a part-time job and still try to keep up with my blog and YouTube channel, I still want to prioritize reading in 2019 by establishing an Alphabet Reading Challenge where I read a book that starts with every letter of the alphabet throughout the year.
No matter what your endless loves may be, you can share your story with James Avery. James Avery is more than just a store, it’s your story, and you can share that story with the huge selection of pieces on their website.
Not to mention, Christmas is just around the corner, so you can help someone else share their story and make the holidays extra special with meaningful gifts for the people you love. Check out the James Avery website to see new releases and gift ideas for your loved ones.
