It’s felt like summer for quite some time in Louisiana. The sun has come out to play full force. Even though the cold gives couples the perfect excuse to get cozy and cuddle, the summer opens up so many opportunities for you and your significant other to get active and do some fun activities together while taking advantage of the endless sunshine. GO TO THE FARMERS MARKET
The farmers market is always on my list of things to do when it’s in town. Pick up some fresh produce, sample some of the offerings, listen to live music and enjoy being surrounded by people who are passionate about their crafts.
ATTEND AN OUTDOOR CONCERT
Check your local listings to see what concerts are going on around town.
HAVE A POOL DAY
If the weather is almost unbearably hot, hop in the pool to cool off. Grab some fun floats from the store, pop open a cold beverage and enjoy a nice pool day.
GO TO A SEAFOOD BOIL
Attend a seafood boil or throw one of your own. In Louisiana, it’s all about crawfish boils, but you gotta get them early because the season is done by midsummer.

Rent a boat, blow up some floaties, have a picnic and enjoy a fun day at the lake.
HAVE A PICNIC
Picnics are my favorite! I love eating meals outside. Make it simple by packing some bread, lunch meat and condiments and cutting up some fresh fruit, or go all out by making some pasta and delicious sides. My go to is spreadable cheese and everything bread. So delish.
GO BIKE RIDING
Rent some bikes and find some trails to ride along.
HAVE A BBQ NIGHT
Food fresh off the grill is the best, isn’t it? Pick your favorite meats and/or veggies and grill ’em up!
GO HIKING
Get out in nature by visiting some nearby state parks and going on their hiking trails. Don’t forget to pack some bug spray and plenty of water.
