My boyfriend will be the first to tell you that I’m an absolute cheeseball. I’ve always been obsessed with love, even when I wasn’t in it. I just love the idea of two people being head over heels for each other in a way that makes you go “aww” and believe in all of the cheesy things people write about in love songs.
I fully believe in celebrating love all the time, so Valentine’s Day isn’t something I’ve always celebrated in a grand way. That said, when February rolls around, it’s not uncommon to catch me listening to all of my favorite love songs more often than usual.
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL (PAEAN) – ED SHEERAN
Ed Sheeran knows how to tug at all of the heartstrings. This song just makes me want to slow dance in an empty room. Not only is the song beautiful, the lyrics perfectly paint the story of two people falling in love.
Favorite lyrics: “How would you feel if I told you I loved you? It’s just something that I want to do.”
IN CASE YOU DIDN’T KNOW – BRETT YOUNG
I’ve been obsessing over this song pretty much all of 2018 so far. I even mentioned it on my “Tune In Tuesday” post on Facebook last month. The music video leaves something to be desired, but every single lyric reminds me of my boyfriend.
Favorite lyrics: “I would be lying if I said that I could live this life without you.”
EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED – TAYLOR SWIFT FEAT. ED SHEERAN
Regular readers, I know you saw this one coming. Red is probably one of my top 3 favorite albums of hers, and this song is so dang adorable. The music video made me fall in love with it even more. Really, when Taylor and Ed get together, magic happens.
Favorite lyrics: “And your eyes look like coming home.”
YOU AND I – INGRID MICHAELSON
This is 100% my favorite song by Ingrid Michaelson. It’s so simple and sweet.
Favorite lyrics: “We might not have any money, but we’ve got our love to pay the bills.”
CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE (COVER) – JENA IRENE
Don’t get me wrong, the original version of this song will forever be my favorite, but I lovelovelove this version. It’s so beautiful, and just gives me all the feels.
Favorite lyrics: “Take my hand. Take my whole life too. For I can’t help falling in love with you.”
LUCKY – JASON MRAZ FEAT. COLBIE CAILLAT
This is such a perfect duo for a song like this. Their voices just sound amazing together. I love this song because when you’re truly in love, that person becomes your best friend, and this song embodies everything around that.
Favorite lyrics: “I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend.”
ONCE IN A LIFETIME – LANDON AUSTIN
This song is so sweet and just sounds so pretty.
Favorite lyrics: “I’m standing where the lightening strikes. I know this doesn’t happen twice. You must be my once in a lifetime.”
GIVE ME SOMETHING – ALEX & SIERRA
Moment of silence to grieve for the fact that this adorable broke up… This will forever be one of my favorite songs by them. It’s one of the more upbeat songs on this list, and just makes you excited about the prospect of falling in love with someone.
Favorite lyrics: “Give me something I can’t live without. Leave the sound of your name on my mouth.”
