Alphabet dating is concept that popped up in recent years that has helped many couples come up with fun and creative date ideas. Coming up with ideas for date night can honestly be downright annoying, especially for someone as indecisive as me. Plus, when you’re dating someone that you see nearly every day, it can be hard to decipher what constitutes as a date. If you order in pizza and hangout on the couch, is that considered a date? If you text throughout the day and spontaneously decide to go see a movie and go grab burgers afterward, is that considered a date? For me, a date is a pre-planned activity that can take place in or outside of your house. You don’t always have to leave your home for it to be a date. You can cook dinner or bake a pie together then go for a walk afterward. Just because you didn’t plan a huge outing, it doesn’t mean it’s not a date.
I used to think that having date night once a week was 100% feasible and easy to do. Of course, I was wrong, but that’s why I love the concept of alphabet dating. It’s a pretty easy concept, you decide on a day for your date night, and you pick an idea based on whatever letter you’re on that week. Because there are 26 letters in the alphabet, you’ll have date night every other week or so. Some of the ideas are more intricate than others, that’s why I tried to give you a variety of ideas to choose some. Plus, of course, there are complicated letters like Q and X, but if you don’t like any of those ideas, you can definitely double up on a letter you’ve already done.
