This past weekend, I got to go to a VIP night for a new pizza place opening up in town, and anyone who knows me knows that I looooove pizza, so when someone tells me there’s a new pizza place in town, I’m 100% there. I had never heard of PizzaRev before it decided to make a new home in Shreveport, but trust me when I say they definitely have a new regular customer.

If you’re like me and have never heard of PizzaRev before, buckle up baby because you’re going to want to read this. The company itself started in Los Angeles in 2012, and what makes it unique is its “build-your-own” pizza concept. Customers can customize their own 11″ pizzas, choosing from over 35 artisanal toppings, and it’s all for one set price. You get to choose from one of their homemade doughs (including vegan and gluten-free options), choose from several sauces, enjoy all-natural cheeses and whatever toppings you’d like. Everything is right in front of you to choose from, and when you’re done making your custom pizza, it’s tossed into a 900-degree, stone bed oven, which will deliver your crispy Roman-style pizza in just three minutes. That’s right – your custom-made pizza will can get to your belly faster than one listen of your favorite song. And it’s freaking delicious.

In addition to being able to customize your own pizza, you can also choose from one of their “Our Way” pizzas. My boyfriend and I shared a White Mushroom Pizza and added sausages to it, and holy cow. It was ah-mazing. Seriously. It was so incredible. I honestly can’t wait to go back and get another one. They also have several appetizers to choose from. We tried the Bacon Balsamic Deviled Eggs. He’s not much of a deviled eggs person, but I like to pretend I’m a connoisseur, and let me just say that these deviled eggs were pretty dang delish. They also have signature and create-your-own salads, three dessert options plus 41 draft beers, signature cockails and a wine menu.

Taste buds aside, there’s an even more awesome reason for you to support this incredible company. The Shreveport location will be opening this Wednesday, December 6, and as you know, opening days are huge for new companies. Instead of pocketing all of their sales, owners Mark Florsheim and Cassidy King, will be donating all of their proceeds from opening day to the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, which is a local no kill animal shelter located in Shreveport. They rely completely on donations and volunteers, so it’s huge that PizzaRev is doing this for them. I encourage you to visit PizzaRev on opening day and help fund this incredible organization!
PizzaRev is located at 6301 Line Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana. You can visit their official website for more information.
