I love having a fun night out on the town as much as the next person, but sometimes it’s nice to have a chill night at the house with your girls. I like to trade in $8 drinks, hurt feet from heels, yelling in each other’s ears over music and smoke-filled hair for comfy clothes, homemade snacks, bottles of wine and lots of laughter. Something I enjoy about having a girls night in is that it doesn’t have to be planned out. It’s all about spontaneity these days, so why not spontaneously be lazy with your girls? Just grab the wine, a good chick flick and call it day.
When girls get together, food is more than likely to be involved. The great thing about staying at the house is that you can keep it simple. You can just see what’s in your pantry and go from there or you can ask your girlfriends to pick stuff up on the way over. Call a pizza place or a Chinese restaurant to get something delivered. You can even get a little fancy-schmancy and cook something together. As long as food is provided, it doesn’t matter what you’re eating.
There’s just something about a good chick flick that brings girls together. Seriously, the writers of these movies just get it, and it’s a bittersweet feeling to watch a movie that seems almost autobiographical. I’m a big fan of any movie that can make me both laugh and cry within a two-hour time frame.
If you know me, then you know I love a good glass of wine. I definitely prefer white wines, but I’m not opposed to drinking a nice glass of red. To me, wine is an everyday essential, but it’s especially needed when you get all the girls together. I have an undying love affair with Italy, and Torresella’s Pinot Grigio is a delicious and authentic Italian wine that’s literally good for all occasions. I can see myself sipping it pool side, at a crawfish boil and of course, during a girls night in.
A fun fact about Torresella is that they utilize sustainable practices in order to produce their clean and crisp-tasting Pinot Grigio. To self-sustain the majority of the vineyard’s power requirements, they leverage solar roof panels. They use Stelvin closures on the packaging and lightweight glass for the bottles. Torresella also sells the excess C02 to reduce waste impact and employ modern farming and irrigation systems to reduce environmental impact. Their dedication to the environment makes me enjoy the taste of their Pinot Grigio even more.
When you know you’re staying in and you’re surrounded by people you love, there’s no reason to get all dressed up. Throw on your favorite pajamas and get comfy!
You can’t have a girls night in without your girls! I’m so lucky to have some great groups of girlfriends to have fun together. I love our pillow talks and deep convos and even our silly times fantasizing about which celebrities we’ll never marry.
