To me, being fearless doesn’t mean being without fear. I believe being fearless is taking on the things that scare you most. Being fearless means being unafraid and unapologetic about who you are. It means being brave enough to identify what you fear and facing it head on, even when your instincts tell you to run away.
Fearlessness is something that I believe should be admired, which is why I’m so excited to share my latest series with y’all: Fearless Friday! Every Friday, I’ll be sharing stories of brave people and how they’ve faced their fears.
Today, I’d like to introduce y’all to Lauren from Lot 48. Read her fearless story below!
I write about entertainment, life, and really anything that pops into my head. I like to inspire inspire and entertain readers on my blog and make it as fun as possible.
What does being fearless mean to you?
It’s funny, because when 2015 came, instead of picking a resolution, I picked a word, FEARLESS. I had a designer design the word all pretty and I hung it across from my side of the bed. I look at it several times a day. This year, I have been living as fearlessly as possible. I have been doing things that have scared me. There hasn’t been any other time in my life when I have pushed myself harder than this year. To me, fearless simply means pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. That is where you learn and grow. It’s the best place to be. 🙂
Share a story where you had to overcome a fear.
The story that comes to mind is when I did dinner theater. This was recently, in October. I did a Halloween show. I had done dozens of shows before, all on stage, but had never done dinner theater before. I had no idea what to expect. I was completely terrified. I don’t really remember another time when I was that terrified. It was a really demanding show, I didn’t get to see my husband that much for a month and had to travel throughout the valley to different restaurants. My character was a villain who was heckled a lot which was really hard for me to handle. I know I wasn’t supposed to take that personally, but it was hard not to. It was a grueling month but I did it and am proud of the work I did.
Whose fearlessness do you admire and why?
Any person who serves to protect our country or city. Firemen, police officers, those in the military. They put their lives on the line every day, and I admire them so much. I can’t imagine how scary it must be to do their job sometimes.
What song makes you feel fearless?
“Bad Girls” by M.I.A. It makes me feel like I can do anything!!
