When people think of Paris, they usually think of Eiffel Tower right off the bat, and for good reason. Almost my entire first day in Paris was spent by the Eiffel Tower. I could have stayed there forever. It was so beautiful and surreal to be seeing such an iconic monument in person.
When we were first got to the hotel, our tour director told us that, after we got settled, we could go walk to the market a few blocks down and get some food for a picnic in front of the Eiffel Tower. This very thing was on my bucket list, and I was too giddy with excitement when he said that.
A few of us headed down to the market just a few minutes later, and my sister I got a fresh loaf of French bread, some cheese and some white wine to share in front of the Eiffel Tower.
It was pure bliss, and easily the best picnic I’ve ever been on.
Later that same day, we were able to bypass the long line to get in, and we went to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. It was amazing to look down and see how big Paris really is.
At night, at the top of every hour, the Eiffel Tower lights up for a few minutes. It’s absolutely gorgeous. We were able to watch the show from the second floor, and it looked so gorgeous looking up.
After leaving the Eiffel Tower, a few of us decided we wanted to see the entire tower light up from the ground, so we killed time by taking a ride on the carousel and eating Nutella crepes.
Viewing the light show from the ground was just as gorgeous. I am just in love with the Eiffel Tower. It looks great in pictures, but there’s nothing compared to seeing it in person.
Have you ever been to the Eiffel Tower? Is it on your bucket list?
