On Monday, I made the last minute decision to join a few of my friends on a roadtrip to Gulf Shores, Alabama for Hangout Music Fest. Since then, my mind has been occupied by very little else. I’ve made playlists, packing lists and even made a chart with my own version of the lineup because I didn’t like how it looked online. I’ve been listening to very little else all week, besides Wednesday when I went to see Luke Bryan and Dustin Lynch in concert. I pretty much listened to Luke Bryan all day, and the concert was absolutely amazing.
I went to my first music festival last year when I attended Austin City Limits with my sister. It was so awesome, but I’m looking forward to Hangout because it combines two of my favorite things – music and THE BEACH! I haven’t been to the beach since August last year when I went on a family vacation to Fort Walton Beach in Florida, so I’ve been itching to get my toes back in the sand.
The lineup for Hangout is pretty incredible, and I’m looking forward to seeing so many artists. These are a few songs that I’m impatiently waiting to hear live:
DON’T LET ME DOWN feat. DAYA – THE CHAINSMOKERS
I’ve been a little obsessed with The Chainsmokers as of late. I don’t think I’ll be able to control my excitement when they hit the stage.
HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE feat. DISCIPLES – CALVIN HARRIS
I wish I could explain how excited I am to see Calvin Harris, but there are literally no words. He is incredible, and I can only imagine how amazing he is live (except on Saturday, I won’t have to imagine!). Also, Taylor Swift went to see him at Coachella, so I’m trying to get her to come to Hangout. Come on, Tay. I mean, her besties, HAIM and Ellie Goulding are going to be there to, so… I would literally lost my mind.
AGAIN – FETTY WAP
I’ve listened to this song a minimum of five times daily all week. Even though I love me some “Trap Queen” and “679,” this is one of my favorite songs by Fetty Wap. I plan to scream 1738 about 1738 times while he’s on stage (and probably after).
UNSTEADY – X AMBASSADORS
Even though this song is heartbreaking, it’s one of my favorites by X Ambassadors, and I have a feeling it’s going to sound gorgeous live.
DROP THE GAME – FLUME
I freaking love Flume, and the thought of seeing them live is already blowing my mind.
ACQUAINTED – THE WEEKND
Even though I already saw The Weeknd at ACL, I only got to see about half of his set because he played at the same time as Florence + the Machine. I have the same dilemma for Hangout because he’s playing at the same time as The Chainsmokers, but if I do get to see him again, I’m hoping I’ll get to hear him sing “Acquainted” live again.
ON MY MIND – ELLIE GOULDING
This song got me through a lot of flirtationships over the past year, so I may or may not lose my voice while singing this song back to Ellie.
ABLE TO SEE ME – HIPPIE SABOTAGE
I lost my mind when I saw Hippie Sabotage in Austin last year. It’s likely that I may not be able to catch their Hangout performance because they’re playing at the same time as a few other artists I’d like to see, but if I happen to see any part of their set, I’m hoping to hear their new song because I haven’t seen it live yet.
MISS JACKSON feat. LOLO – PANIC! AT THE DISCO
I’ve loved Panic! for quite some time, and as much as I love their A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out album, I really, really hope they play this song. I jam to this song too hard when it comes on in the car.
If I shared every single artist and song I was looking forward to hearing, this blog post would never end, but you can check out the playlist my friends and I will be jammin’ to on the drive:
What are your plans for the weekend?
