I wish I could say that I was upset that I haven’t blogged in awhile, but to be honest, I’m okay with it. The only reason being that March was too amazing for words. I didn’t have time to write because I’ve been going nonstop, and I love it. Who needs sleep, amiright?
If you’ve been following me on Snapchat or have been keeping up with my YouTube channel, you may have caught some glimpses into what I’ve been up to lately, but I still wanted to share some of the opportunities I’ve had, things I’ve celebrated and people I’ve been spending time with with y’all!
I filmed a video for the tourist bureau.
This is probably one of the things I’m most excited about, which is why I mentioned it first. I’ve had connections with the local tourist bureau through my job, but the opportunities I’ve received as of late have all been because of Endless Bliss. A couple months ago, I approached the person behind the tourist bureau’s blog and introduced him to my blog. Because of that email, I’ve been featured in the paper, had a meeting with a local magazine about doing some freelance work and I was asked to film a video for National Travel and Tourism Week, which is the first week of May. During this week, they will show short videos of people talking about their favorite things to do in the area, and they’ll be segmented. My video was about nightlife.
When I first thought about what I would talk about, I knew that I wanted it to involve karaoke. Being Filipino, karaoke is one of my favorite activities. I’m so lucky because several of my friends and two of my co-workers came out to support me, and they got to be in the background of the video as well. I can’t wait to see how the video turns out, and when it’s complete, I’ll be sure to share it here!
My friend got promoted from Captain to Major.
Being an Air Force brat, I love and admire our country’s military. My friend, Saheba, threw a wine party at her house to celebrate her promotion, and it was so fun to celebrate with her, her family and her friends that are so proud of her accomplishment.
Beyond that, I got to attend the promotion ceremony, and admittedly, I almost started crying hearing her speak about her journey and thanking the people that helped her get to where she is today. She’s such an amazing, special and generous person, and she’s more than deserving of this honor. I’m so lucky to call her a friend.
I had one last hurrah for one of my best friends.
My friend, Katherine, made the decision to move up to Denver, and I couldn’t let her leave without a proper good-bye. I hosted a glow party at my house, and it was an absolute blast. The clean-up, not so much. Admittedly, Katherine and I did not take a decent picture together.
I’ve been daily vlogging.
Balance is something that I have (and probably always will) struggled with. When I’m on a roll with blogging, YouTube takes a backseat, and vice versa. Lately, I’ve been filming clips of every part of my day and posting those updates to YouTube every week. Filming, editing, publishing, etc. YouTube videos takes up more time than I anticipated, but I’m having so much fun recording my life. It’s fun to go back and look at how I spent my days and reliving some of my new favorite memories.
I saw one of my BFFL’s get married.
I’ve written about my love of being an orientation leader on here before, and being able to see my friend, Lucas, marry the love of his life really just solidified it. It’s crazy because the five of us that were at the wedding (Lucas included) don’t talk all the time, but seeing them again, it was just like old times. It was so fun reuniting with all of them after way too much time.
I’ve been spending pretty much everyday with my squad.
I love spontaneity, and it’s so great to find a group of people who love it too. I never know where the night will take me. Between game nights, concerts, Taco Tuesday, parties, comedy nights, crawfish boils, trivia and so much food, life with my #TNK (#teamnokids) family is always an adventure.
In less than a month, I’ll be moving in with my friends, Alyssa and Jessica. After panicking about where I was going to live (only having a month to find a place, pack and move everything I own), these two friends (who I’ve only known since November) graciously offered to take me in until I can figure out what my next step is. I’m sad to be leaving the place I’ve been living for two years, but I’m excited for this new chapter.
I’m hoping that once I move into my place, I’ll be able to blog regularly again. In the meantime, expect a few sporadic posts here and there. If you want to keep up with what I’m up to, follow me on Snapchat (tiffanykhyla) or check out my Everyday Bliss vlog series!
