I don’t know much about Photoshop or HTML, but I do know a lot about glitter. I am a fan of anything that sparkles. And while I wish I could dish out the money for all of Adobe’s programs, Photoshop most of all, there’s no way I could justify that kind of purchase right now, so I just try to work with what I have.
I’m excited to share some simple steps for you to make glitter letters. Whether you’re looking to do a new blog design using glitter, making a blog button or just want to jazz up your next blog post, here are a few simple steps for you to make some glitter letters using a free picture editing website called Pixlr.
// Open Pixlr, and choose “Pixlr Editor.”
// Click “Create new image,” adjust height and width as desired, and click the box next to “Transparent.”
// Use the type tool to type whatever words you would like to be sparkly. Adjust font and size as desired. I suggest choosing a thicker font so the glitter will be more noticeable.
// Go to “Layers” on the right side of the screen, and right click on the text layer. Choose “Merge visible.”
// Go to the “Edit” menu at the top and choose “Select All.”
// Go to the “Edit” menu at the top and choose “Copy.”
// Go to “File” and choose “Open image.” Open the glitter image you would like to use. I used this one.
// Paste the words you copied from your other image onto the glitter image.
// Click “Toggle layer settings.” Something will pop up.
// Next to “Mode,” choose “Alpha.” Your letters will disappear.
// In the layers section on the right, right click on top of the “Background” layer. Choose “Merge Visible.”
It will look something like this:
// Crop as needed and paste anywhere you’d like!
