I love love love to read, and lately I haven’t been reading as much as I’ve been wanting to. But I ordered Girls in White Dresses by Jennifer Close the other day, and I finished reading it in about three days. I’ve seen this book on so many “must read” lists that I had to see what all the hype was about.
Girls in White Dresses follows three women – Isabella, Mary, and Lauren – who are stuck in a whirlwind of bridal showers and wedding bells all while having struggles with their families, relationships, and career.
I loved every second. There were a lot of characters to keep up with, but that’s okay. It was such an easy read. I loved how it was written. I definitely saw a lot of myself in a few of these characters. I know the struggle of trying to start a career and living off little to no money while everyone else around you seems to be living fabulous lives. I think a lot of 20-somethings will see a little bit of themselves in this book.
I give this book a 4 out of 5. I recommend it to all 20-somethings and people trying to figure out the awkward transition from college life to corporate life.
